Jennifer Prouty, MSW, CSW-PIP
During the past ten years of my career in the mental health field, it has been an honor to have had individuals and their families entrust me in helping them navigate life’s journey. I enjoy working with individuals who are ready and motivated for change, though also recognize what it means to be “motivated” can look different for everyone. I work collaboratively with individuals and families to develop evidence based treatment plans to address self-identified goals, often which involve symptom reduction and increased quality of life.
My passion for providing evidence based care is something that allows me to work collaboratively with my clients to help them reach their goals and ultimately graduate from therapy.

About
Jen obtained her Bachelor of Science degree with an area of focus being Social Work and a minor in Education from the University of South Dakota. She then went on to continue her education at USD to get a Masters of Social Work degree in 2017. Jen currently serves as a Field Instructor for MSW students/interns and is a member of the MSW Practicum Advisory Committee for the University of South Dakota.
Prior to Alpine Counseling Services, Jen had worked as a therapist providing in-home therapy for clients in Minnesota. She then worked at Avera E-Care helping to build a program to bring virtual behavioral health services to underserves rural schools in the Midwest. Jen then worked in the clinical outpatient therapy realm at Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, SD at the Psychiatry and Psychology Clinic. During her time there she had worked with a variety of populations, including a large number of athletes and performers. Jen has since transitioned to owning a private clinical therapy practice in Brookings, SD in 2024.
