Individual Therapy

Clients will meet one-on-one with a licensed therapist in a safe, caring, and confidential environment. During the first few appointments, the therapist and client will talk about treatment goals and personal goals for the client. These goals willl be reviewed every few months to monitor progress. Goals can include: decreasing symptoms, working on commmunication skills, building on coping tools, and addressing unhelpful behaviors. Client participation in completing homework is essential for progress to be made.

Child/Family Therapy

During the first session, therapy starts with meeting both the child and parent(s)/guardian. Depending on the concerns brought forward during this appointment, the therapist will provide recommendations on which evidence based approach would be most appropriate. A treatment plan will be created during these first few sessions to help with setting goals for therapy.

There are a few additional expectations for parents who have children in therapy. These expectations include: For children that cannot transport themselves - parents are required to attend sessions to provide updates and to participate in sessions as noted in the treatment plan. For children that can transport themselves - parents are required to attend the first session, to provide updates when requested, and to be availble by phone if needed during the appointment.

Parent Management Training

Parent Management Training (PMT) is an approach that is taught in a classroon type apprach where parents learn skills to increase positive interactions with their child and to address problematic behaviors. PMT sessions can take place with or without the child being present. This can be dependent on what insurance coverage the family has.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on challenging and changing unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, improving emotional regulation, and the development of personal coping strategies that help with navigating current stressors.

Cognitive Processing Therapy

Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a specific type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that has been proven to be effective in reducing symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) that have developed after experiencing a variety of traumatic event(s).

Parent Child Interaction Therapy

Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is a family based apprach that helps with addressing problematic behaviors, enhancing the parent/child relationship, and increasing listening/social skills. This approach uses in the moment parent coaching that is based on the parents skill level.
